A max cashout bonus rule caps how much you can withdraw from bonus play, no matter how much you win. If your balance shows RM500 but the offer says “maximum withdraw RM30”, the casino pays RM30 and removes the rest. That is usually allowed, as long as the cap was shown to you before you claimed. Below: what the cap is, the maths on real offers, what 10 offers in our operator reviews say, and what to do if a cap appears out of nowhere.

What max cashout means (and 3 limits people mix up)
Max cashout, also called maximum withdrawal or max win cap, is a ceiling on what you can take out of a bonus once wagering is done. It is written in one of three ways:
- A fixed amount: “maximum withdraw RM30”.
- A multiple of the bonus: “capped at 4X the bonus amount awarded”.
- A multiple of the deposit: rarer, but common on small “deposit 20, play with 100” deals.
It is easy to confuse with three other limits. They are not the same thing.
| Limit | What it caps | Typical wording | Who it hits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max cashout | Total you can withdraw from bonus winnings | “Maximum withdraw RM30” | Players who win big with a bonus |
| Max win per spin | The biggest single payout a game can make | “Max win 5,000x” | Everyone, bonus or not |
| Max bet while wagering | Stake size while a bonus is active | “Max bet RM25 per spin” | Bonus players; breaking it can void winnings |
| General withdrawal limit | How much you can withdraw per day, week or month | “Max RM20,000 per day” | Everyone; slows payment, should not cancel it |
Takeaway: Max cashout deletes money. A daily withdrawal limit only delays it. Know which one you are facing before you argue.
Why can I only withdraw RM30? The maths of a cap
A RM30 free credit with a RM30 cap
A6STAR’s “New Register RM30” offer (Malaysia) gives RM30 free credit, once per ID, with RM600 turnover on event slot games. Its terms box lists “maximum withdraw RM30”, according to our A6STAR review. The same box also says “minimum withdraw RM600”, which is unclear, so ask the operator in writing before relying on either figure.
If the cap works the way we read it:
- You must bet RM600, which is 20 times the credit.
- On a 96% RTP slot, betting RM600 costs about RM24 on average.
- Run the balance up to RM500 and you can still withdraw only RM30. The other RM470 is forfeited.

The cap here equals the credit itself. The best possible result is walking away with what you were handed.
Small Thai offers: the cap is your profit ceiling
Two small PG Soft offers in our NB99 review show how tight caps can be:
- Deposit THB 20, get THB 100 credit, x10 turnover, maximum withdrawal THB 100. The best outcome is THB 100 out, a THB 80 profit, or 5 times your deposit.
- Deposit THB 100, play with THB 200, x3 on deposit + bonus, maximum withdrawal THB 600. That is THB 600 of bets, an expected cost of about THB 24 at 96% RTP, and a ceiling of 6 times your deposit.
These caps are clear and written down. That is the good version.
What a cap does to the value of a bonus
Caps cut the one outcome that makes a bonus worth chasing: the big early win. Our no deposit bonus simulation modelled a free 10 with 40x wagering and a 50 cap. The average value came out at about 3.67, and in one run of 1,000 players the highest balance, 469.14, paid out 50.
Takeaway: Before you play, the cap is the only number that matters for your upside. Ask if it is worth the turnover.
What 10 bonus offers in our operator reviews say about max cashout
We re-read the bonus sections of our seven published operator reviews on 30 Oct 2026. The reviews record public offer terms as seen on the dates below. HotStakes did not open accounts or claim these offers.
| Operator | Market | Offer | Max cashout stated? | Seen |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A6STAR | MYR | New Register RM30 free credit | Yes: “maximum withdraw RM30” (wording unclear) | 30 Oct 2026 |
| A6STAR | MYR | Slot Welcome Bonus 50%, x3 | Not stated | 30 Oct 2026 |
| NB99 | THB | Deposit 100, play with 200, x3 | Yes: THB 600 | 26 Oct 2026 |
| NB99 | THB | Deposit 20, get 100 credit, x10 | Yes: THB 100 | 26 Oct 2026 |
| NB99 | THB | New member 50%, x25 | Not stated (terms say each promotion’s cap is shown “when you claim it”) | 26 Oct 2026 |
| M777 | MYR | 117% Welcome Reward, x12 | Unclear: “Maximum Bonus Payout” RM100, read as the bonus cap | 25 Oct 2026 |
| EW8 | MYR | Sliding welcome slot bonus, 12x | Not stated | 24 Oct 2026 |
| Siam66 | THB | Welcome Slots Bonus 100%, 15x | Not stated | 28 Oct 2026 |
| AW8 | THB | First deposit bonus 100%, 10x | Not stated | 27 Oct 2026 |
| ZEAGAME | THB | 3% weekly cashback (title only) | Not stated; no written terms at all | 29 Oct 2026 |

Three things stand out:
- Only 3 of 10 offers state a clear cap. All three are small free-credit or low-deposit deals.
- Every main welcome bonus we looked at is silent on max cashout, or uses wording that could mean something else.
- Silence is not the same as “no cap”. Several of these operators reserve wide rights to change promotions or confiscate winnings. A cap that isn’t written down can still be applied at withdrawal time.
Takeaway: No cap stated means ask first, in writing, before you deposit.
Are caps allowed? What regulators and one court said
Caps themselves are legal in most places. Hiding them is where regulators have pushed back.
- UK advertising regulator, 2017: the ASA ruled against a casino ad offering “up to £500 in welcome bonuses” because it did not mention that bonus conversion was capped at 4x the bonus. It called the cap “a significant condition to the offer that should have been included in the ad” (ASA ruling, 9 Aug 2017).
- UK Gambling Commission, Nov 2017: warned that play restrictions not clearly set out to players can lead to “the confiscation of deposits and winnings”, and told operators to review their terms (Gambling Commission, 22 Nov 2017).
- UK competition authority, 2018: after a CMA investigation, operators committed that players can withdraw their own money during a bonus, and some agreed not to impose any maximum limit on withdrawing it (CMA case page). CMA guidance also says withdrawal limits must be clear before a player deposits (CMA overview for industry, Aug 2018).
- Curaçao court, Feb 2026: SmokeAce’s operator Altacore NV argued its terms capped a player’s VIP-bonus winnings at five times a €110 bonus, or €550. The player said he was never aware of the rule. The court found no evidence he broke the rules, called the casino’s withdraw-first argument “illogical” and ordered €495,454.98 paid, according to the Curaçao Chronicle (5 Mar 2026). Payment was still uncertain. Our guide to voided bonus winnings covers the case in full.
Takeaway: UK rules do not cover most offshore sites used in Malaysia, Thailand or Singapore. The principle still helps your complaint: a cap you were never shown is hard to defend.
Where the cap hides in the terms
Caps rarely sit in the banner. Look for these words in the offer box or the general bonus terms: “maximum withdraw”, “maximum withdrawal”, “max cashout”, “maximum conversion”, “maximum payout” or “winnings capped at”. Our casino glossary defines each one.

Takeaway: Search the terms page for “max” and “cap”. If neither word appears near the offer, treat the cap as unknown, not as zero.
Check before you claim: 5 steps
- Find the cap. Fixed amount, bonus multiple or deposit multiple. Write it down.
- Find the turnover and what it applies to. Bonus only, or deposit + bonus? Our wagering requirements guide shows why that doubles the cost.
- Do the sum. Put the bonus, turnover and RTP into our wagering calculator. If the expected cost is close to the cap, the offer is close to worthless.
- No cap stated? Ask in writing. Use live chat or email, ask “Is there a maximum withdrawal on this bonus?”, and save the transcript.
- Screenshot the terms the day you claim. Include the date. Terms change, and you need the version you agreed to.
Not happy with the answer? Tick “No Bonus”. Playing with your own money means no cap on what you win from it. Our are casino bonuses worth it guide shows when skipping the bonus is the better deal. If you are comparing sites, our operator list links each review so you can read the terms first.
A cap you weren’t shown was applied: what to do
- Stop playing that balance. Do not deposit again to “fix” it.
- Screenshot everything: balance, bet history, the offer page, the terms page with its date.
- Ask support in writing for the exact clause, where it was shown before you claimed, and the date of that terms version. Save the chat transcript.
- Compare their clause with your screenshots. If it wasn’t there when you claimed, say so plainly.
- Escalate to the licensing body if the site has a real licence. Our online casino complaint guide lists the routes, step by step.
Takeaway: Your strongest evidence is a dated screenshot of terms with no cap in them.
FAQ
What does max cashout mean on a casino bonus?
It is the most you can withdraw from bonus play after meeting the wagering requirement. Anything above it is removed from your balance.
Why can I only withdraw RM30 from a free credit?
Many free credit offers cap withdrawals at a fixed amount, often equal to or a few times the credit. A6STAR’s RM30 free credit, for example, lists “maximum withdraw RM30”. Check the offer box for the exact figure.
Does max cashout apply to my own deposit?
It should apply to bonus winnings, not to money you deposited. UK operators committed to letting players withdraw their own money during a bonus. Offshore sites set their own rules, so ask in writing.
Is a bonus with no max cashout stated better?
Not automatically. An unstated cap can still be applied later. Ask support to confirm there is no cap and save the answer before you deposit.
Can I avoid max cashout?
Yes. Decline the bonus and play with your own money. Winnings from your own deposit are not subject to a bonus cap.
