What we checked (1 Nov 2026). Maxim88 is a Malaysia-facing casino that HotStakes lists with a direct link to maxim88wc68.com. We checked the licence claim against regulators’ registers and PAGCOR’s public notice, the public lobby and a demo game, complaint sites and warning lists, the published terms, the domain records and the payment methods shown.
What we found. The site names no regulator, no licence number and no company; its footer shows testing-lab and security logos (BMM, iTech Labs, GLI, TST, iovation, ThreatMetrix), which are not licences. PAGCOR’s “Notice to the Public” lists “maxim88” and “maxim88malaysia.com” among websites “not related to or endorsed by PAGCOR”. The footer “Terms & Conditions” link opens nothing, so general terms cannot be read; the welcome-bonus terms are public and ask 12x turnover on slots, 18x on sports and 25x on live casino, which is within normal limits. A Pragmatic Play demo opened without an account, which is good, but the game is served through an unnamed intermediary host rather than the studio’s own domain, and no RTP is shown. Reviewers on Trustpilot (2.7/5 from 18 reviews) report a withdrawal held for eKYC and then an account ban, an account suspended during a winning streak, and slow withdrawals; the operator replied to each. Casino Guru records one rejected complaint and an undisclosed owner. The domain is three years old with a hidden owner, and the brand runs on several other addresses. Payments include Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum, DuitNow, Touch ‘n Go, GrabPay and Boost.
What readers should do. Score 37/100: avoid until the licence can be verified. Maxim88 is a long-running brand with live demos and public bonus terms, but without a licence on any register, a company name or readable general terms, you have nothing to rely on if a withdrawal is held. If you play there, keep stakes small, complete verification before you win big, and keep screenshots of every transaction. Maxim88 is welcome to reply with a licence number and company name that can be checked on a regulator’s register; we will add any reply here and re-check.
Right of reply. We looked for a public email for Maxim88 on maxim88wc68.com on 1 Nov 2026: none found (only live chat, phone and social media). The operator can reply through hotstakes.io/list-your-brand/ and we will update this page.

| Licence | 0/20 | maxim88wc68.com (the address HotStakes links) names no regulator, no licence number and no company (checked 1 Nov 2026). The footer shows only testing-lab and security logos (BMM, iTech Labs, GLI, 'Payouts reviewed by TST', GoDaddy, iovation, ThreatMetrix); none of these is a gambling licence. PAGCOR's public 'Notice to the Public' lists 'maxim88' and the page maxim88malaysia.com (path /enmy/home) among websites 'not related to or endorsed by PAGCOR'. Casino Guru also records 'no license' and 'undisclosed owner'. No licence claimed = 0. source source source |
| Clone games | 10/20 | The public slots lobby has a DEMO button on each tile and a Pragmatic Play demo (Gates of Olympus 1000, game code vs20olympx, fun mode) opened without an account on 1 Nov 2026. The game frame is served through an intermediary host, tiguaxzikh.net, not a Pragmatic Play domain, and the lobby shows no RTP, so we could not compare the RTP with the studio's official 96.5%. Game loads, but the host cannot be tied to the studio: 10. source |
| Payout reports | 10/20 | HotStakes has 0 visitor reports. Trustpilot (maxim88.online) scores 2.7/5 from 18 reviews: a Jul 2026 reviewer says an RM500 withdrawal was held for eKYC and the account was then banned; others (Aug 2025, Jan–Feb 2026) report an account suspended during a winning streak, delayed payment and slow withdrawals; the operator replied to each. Casino Guru lists 1 complaint (rejected) and a Safety Index of 8.1. Not on Bank Negara Malaysia's Financial Consumer Alert list (checked 1 Nov 2026), but the brand is on PAGCOR's reported-websites notice. Isolated unresolved complaints plus a regulator notice: 10. source source source source |
| Trap terms | 7/15 | The footer 'Terms & Conditions' link points to '#' and opened nothing when clicked on 1 Nov 2026, so there are no readable general terms. Promotion terms are public: the 100% Welcome Bonus needs 12x turnover on slots, 18x on sports and 25x on live casino within 30 days (max bonus MYR 200–500), Mega888/918Kiss 8x winover; turnover on blackjack, video poker, craps, American roulette and baccarat does not count; the operator may 'forfeit all bonuses' for duplicate accounts or shared financial information and may 'modify, cancel, suspend, or terminate the promotion and/or change the terms… at any time without prior notice'. Turnover is within our 40x limit, but withdrawal caps, max-bet rules and confiscation rules for ordinary play are not published. source |
| Website facts | 5/10 | maxim88wc68.com was registered on 8 Nov 2022 (GoDaddy, expires 8 Nov 2026) with the owner hidden. The brand also runs on maxim88-my.com, maxim88link.com, maxim88malaysia.com and maxim88.online. No company name or address anywhere on the site; the About page says 'since 2006'. Support: 24/7 live chat (widget loads), phone and social media; no public email found. A football brand ambassador is shown. source source source |
| Payment safety | 5/10 | Footer payment logos: Bitcoin, Tether (USDT), Ethereum, DuitNow, Instant Pay, Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, Boost, EeziePay and Help2Pay (1 Nov 2026). No deposit address or bank account is shown before registration, so the HotStakes USDT address check could not be used and we could not see whether bank deposits go to a company or a personal account. source source |
| HotStakes test | 0/5 | HotStakes lists Maxim88 with a direct link (public site and lobby checked, no deposit made). Not tested by HotStakes with a real deposit and withdrawal. source |
