4D dictionary

Plain-English meanings of the words used in 4D: Big, Small, i-Perm, Box, Special, Consolation, Special draw, Jackpot and more.

Big
A bet that pays on all 23 prize positions.
Small
A bet that pays only on 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, at higher amounts.
Special
Ten prize positions below 3rd prize. Big bets only.
Consolation
Ten prize positions below Special. Big bets only.
i-Perm / Box / Permutation
One bet covering every ordering of your four digits. You pay per ordering.
Roll
A bet that fixes three digits and rolls the fourth through 0–9 (ten numbers for ten stakes).
Special draw
An extra draw, usually on a Tuesday, announced by the operator and published on our results page.
Draw number
The operator's running count for the year, such as 437/26.
Jackpot
A pooled prize that rolls over when nobody wins. Magnum, Da Ma Cai and Sports Toto each run 4D jackpot games.
Verified
On HotStakes, a result confirmed by two independent sources. "Verifying" means we are waiting on the second.
Claim period
How long you have to collect a prize. Most Malaysian operators allow 6 months from the draw date.
